Pedigree Automobiles
My background in older cars
I have been interested in, and owned, all manner of classic cars for the last 17+ years and in this time have
owned classic saloon cars, sportscars and commercials, both lightweight and (very) heavy.
Sister site to Pedigree Automobiles, OldClassicCar, contains various yarns about the old motors I've tinkered with
over the years. Through this hobby I have met all manner of interesting people and their vehicles, which has only
furthered my interest in this great subject.
I try to attend as many events as possible throughout the year, from local steam and vehicle shows, to big international
events such as the renowned Goodwood Revival Meeting. My interest in classic cars is all encompassing, I see merit in
most old cars irrespective of their condition. It could be a one-off coachbuilt automobile, or 1 owner from new Hillman
Minx, but they're all great motors in my mind, not least for having survived at all!
I set up OldClassicCar in 2002 and it has slowly evolved ever since. Many people get in touch with questions about old
cars, advice on how to locate particular vehicles for film use, asking whether I am interested in importing cars from
countries as diverse as Egypt and Latvia (honest!), and wherever possible I've pointed them in the right direction. One
question that cropped up on a regular basis was 'Where can I sell my Classic Car on your site?' and the simple answer
was that they couldn't. However it did set me thinking that maybe there was room for an online service to list peoples
classic and vintage cars for sale. There are a few sites offering such a service already, but from what I can see the
cars and their details are not promoted anything like as well as they could be, with little attention given to search
engine friendliness, and so on.
There are a number of packages available for selling a classic on this site, more of which can be read about by
going to this page. Hopefully you will find this service of use and call by again - this site
has only just been launched so will take a while to gain momentum, so I hope to see you again here in future!
In the meantime, if you have any classic or vintage car parts for sale, or you are on the look out for some, why not
try the new Free Classifieds ads service? See the links down the RHS of this page for more details!
