1968 Morris Traveller
Classic Minor estate at Pedigree Automobiles
Asking price £SOLD
The car was built in 1968. Registration number KCE 645 F. I bought the car from the son of the first owner (deceased) in 1978 and am the second owner.
The engine, clutch and gearbox are original. The engine runs on leaded petrol or on unleaded + liquid additive. I have had no trouble with this mixture. The car is mechanically sound. MOT until May 2007. Ammeter, oil pressure and temperature gauges fitted. The engine idles at 50 PSI and operates at 75 PSI. The original warning lights are operating as well. The brake system was overhauled in March 2005, just prior to the last MOT. The engine starts first try (even after long storage) The car spent much of the time in my garage while I was away at sea. It is garaged now and has been since I took it off the road in December 2000.
The body is sound and free from rust. Over the years welding was done as needed to pass the MOT. No welding was needed for the last MOT. The woodwork (mahogany) was fitted in 1979 and is in excellent condition. The car was resprayed in Persian Blue.
In 1998/99 new steel front wings were fitted. The rear wings are of fibreglass. The bonnet and the top of the van section (aluminium) were replaced. Repair panels were fitted over the rear wheel arches (inside the car) and at the bottoms of both doors. The carpets and headlining were renewed and the car was once again resprayed in Persian Blue. This is the colour you see in the photos.
The interior fabric is in fair condition and is original except for the new seat cushion on the driver’s seat. New headliner and parcel shelf. Interior paintwork is Old English White.
I have the owner’s manual and several books about Minors. There is a spare windscreen, prop shaft and carburettor, as well as odds and ends of light fittings and wing mirrors. All of this is included in the asking price.
The car is tax exempt historical vehicle. Inspection by appointment. Pick up from Great Yarmouth.
