1973 BMW E9 3.0 CSL Coupe
Classic BMW For Sale on Pedigree Automobiles
Asking price £5,500
E9 Series 3.0CSL Coupe (UK car) 3003cc
Believed manufactured 1973, although it is registered as Historic and qualifies for zero rate road tax.
Reg. XMF268N.
Standard road version, ie not the "Batmobile", with original aluminium panels in place.
The car has been in my possession for twenty years, and has undergone extensive renovation and restoration. The present condition is not showroom but I think very good.
Fairly comprehensive documentation of servicing and mechanical and body work, eg front wings were replaced during my ownership,
the injection system was partially renewed, front brake discs completely
replaced, something was done on the front struts (possibly renewed), a Kenlowe fan replaced the original fan, and the
wiper motors replaced. The alternator is being replaced at the moment.
The original cooling fan, after some problems, was replaced with a thermostatic electric system.
Most of the MOT has still to run.
Please note this car has now been sold.
Only genuine enquiries please. The hand controls shown have now been removed.
Thankyou

History of the CSL
The CSL model came to the UK in October 1972, and 500 examples were imported upto mid 1974. The CSL
was a homologation special to enable BMW to use these lightweight cars (based on the CSi road car)
in competition, for example the European Touring Car Championship. All coupes were built by Karmann,
who were based in Osnabruck, the mechanical parts being shipped direct from Munich. Some 30 years
after production ended, many parts are still available from BMW to keep these classic E9 series coupes
on the road.
