Skoda S110R Coupe Sports 1107cc
One owner from new classic Skoda for sale
SOLD.
My name is Cleo and I was manufactured in Czechoslovakia in 1976 at the
Skoda Work, Mlada Boleslav.They called me the Skoda S110R Coupe Sports
(1107cc) and were very proud of me. I descend from the ancient firm of
Laurin and Klement who originally built racing motorcycles in 1899 and
later started manufacturing cars in 1905. Their association with TATRA in
1950 assured a high level of engineering which accounts for my rear engine
with a water cooled 4 cylinder power unit.
I have been with my owner (a Birthday present) for 29 years and during that
time I have travelled only 14,300 miles! Most of this travel was in the first
three years and I was classed as a holiday car, touring Belgium, Holland,
Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Yugoslavia and beyond. I
encountered all kinds of weather and mountain terrain with only one problem.
In those early days the Italian Autostrada toll booths charged by engine size
and the toll booth attendant viewed each car as it approached. I was mistaken
so many times for a Porsche that I had a card made for viewing in the windscreen -
'SKODA 1107cc'. It is still in the glove-box!
After my last continental trip in 1979, I was garaged and regularly cleaned and
polished until the present day - my only journeys being for MOT Inspections. In
2002 I met an old friend. The MOT Inspector was the same person who carried
out the pre-delivery inspection from the Skoda agents in 1976. We had an
enjoyable and sentimental re-union.
My latest MOT (July 2005) still finds me in good form (not even an 'advise') and
apart from one or two minor blemishes, I am as good as new. I have never been
involved in an accident and have a clean Cherished Classic Car Insurance Cover.
The sad part now is that my owner is now looking for some-one else to look after
me. I am a collectors car, and (may I say it) a very rare one! My owner is looking
for offers over £3,500 for the 29 years she had cared for me.
Car now sold thanks.
